May's Marvellous Calendar for Planet Earth Poetry

MAY 2, 2008: JOELENE HEATHCOTE

JOELENE HEATHCOTE has won many contests and awards for her writing. Her book, What's Between Us Can't Be Heard, from Exstasis, was shortlisted for the Pat Lowther Award. Inherit the Earth, won Robicon Presses's Inaugural Chap Book Contest.


MAY 9, 2008: ALLAN BRIESMASTER & CLARA BLACKWOOD

ALLAN BRIESMASTER is a freelance editor and publisher, and the author of nine books of poetry. He is the co- editor of Crossing Lines: Poets who came to Canada in the Vietnam War Era.

CLARA BLACKWOOD'S first collection of poetry Subway Medusa was published by Guernic Editions. She is the daughter of Allan Briesmaster, an artist and a poetry enthusiast, like her father.


MAY 16, 2008: SINGING, DANCING AND POETRY FROM REYNOLDS SCHOOL

Students from Reynolds, many of whom painted poetry on hoardings around Victoria, show their great talents and enthusiasm for the arts. This is a fund raiser for the school's environmental project.
